Dr. Hüseyin Cumhur Tekin received his BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Turkey in 2005, and from Ecole Polytechnique Federal de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland in 2007, respectively. He obtained his PhD degree in Microsystems and Microelectronics at EPFL in 2012 as being nominated for Lausanne City award for high quality of his thesis. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in EPFL, Harvard Medical School and Canary Center for Cancer Early Detection at Stanford School of Medicine, respectively. He then joined Bioengineering Department of Izmir Institute of Technology in 2016 and he established LBMS. His current interests lie in developing micro and nanotechnologies, point-of-care devices and telemedicine systems for biomedical applications. He aims to make difference in healthcare services by providing rapid, easy to use and cost effective systems, devices and mobile apps for medical field. Furthermore, Dr. Tekin is a vice chair of IZTECH Bioengineering Department, a board member of IZTECH Graduate School of Engineering and Sciences, a board member of IZTECH Eurasian Centre for Advanced Research, a board member of IZTECH Biotechnology and Innovation Application and Research Center for Sustainable Development, an academic board member of IZTECH Biotechnology and Bioengineering Graduate Program, an academic board member of IZTECH Photonics Department and also an advisor of METU-MEMS center. Dr. Tekin was one of recipients of 2020 Outstanding Young Scientists Awards (GEBIP) from Turkish Academy of Science (TUBA) and 2022 Young Scientist Awards (BAGEP) from Science Academy (Bilim Akademisi). Furthermore, he has been advisory board member of Health Science Research Support Group (SBAG)/ The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) since 2022.
