LBMS was established by Dr. H. Cumhur Tekin in 2016 and has a mission to provide rapid, easy to use and cost effective systems, devices and mobile applications for biomedical field
LBMS’s focused research topics group under three main areas:
- Micro and Nanotechnology: Micro and nanotechnology are used in order to realize sensitive and automated bioassays. Additionally, rapid prototyping techniques are developed for fabricating lab-on-a-chip devices. Furthermore, magnetic strategies are exploited to handle micro and nanoparticles, and living cells in microfluidic channels.
- Bioinstrumentation: Point-of-care devices and biosensors for prognostics and diagnostics are developed and also, studies on wearable systems are conducted for continuous patient monitoring.
- Intelligent Systems: Efforts are dedicated to the development of cell analysis and disease monitoring systems that leverage the power of machine learning algorithms.
